Hurricane season, remember
Dorian has continued to grow
Still not sure where it will go
Winds hitting 180 miles per hour
Bahamas, now, feeling that power
Will it hit Florida, or stay off shore
Either way, wind & water will roar
Sand along the SE coast, on the move
Piers, houses, islands will be removed
Gonna be, "watch Dorian week"
A new normal storm, not a freak
Now Cat. 5 storm every year
Seems to me so very clear
Add more heat to any system
Eventually, too big to resist 'em
Planet, not us, still in control
Our waste & greed taking its toll
Hang On!
Of course, another TX mass shooting
NRA & GOP just keep rebooting
Same old tired song, gotta have my gun
Yet shoppers are still on the run
Last month, 5 soldiers killed overseas
Here, yesterday, 100 die by gun disease
Everyday 100 more Americans die
NRA fools continue safety lie
While gun makers rake in the cash
2nd Amend. fascists build their stash
Who cares about schools or teacher's pay
Long as I got my guns today
Don't want my money to fix our roads
Gotta have my high capacity loads
Don't believe in global warming
Likely don't think massacres alarming
Same folks don't want a fetus to die
Quite ok with AK-47 drive-by

Usual quakes around Pacific Ring
Internal heat driving that thing
No quakes here in quite awhile
That thought brought a smile
As did the morning big dog stroll
So lucky to get to go on patrol
In a place where I don't see or hear
Usual things that bring Americans fear
No muggings or road rage in the trees
Could see bears, snakes or raging bees
But usually deer, squirrels or chatty birds
Hear 'em chatter, don't get their words
Bet Pileated Woodpeckers sounding alarm
We're just passing through, no harm!!
In the woods life is happening now
Let your mind wander too much & POW!
Reality can come back in a hurry
Root stumble or horse fly scurry
But, mostly a delight every day
Never quite sure of our way
Where ever we go, that's where we went
Another fine day, Earth lent
