Day 12 - Dorian Rampages On!

With all honor to Bob Dylan

How many storms will it take til you know
You live to close to the coast
How many trailers will tornadoes trash befo'
By stayin', know you'll be toast
Yes, 'n how much higher will temperatures go
Before we humans all roast
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer, is blowin' in Dorian's wind

While the VA coast is still getting drilled
I'm in the yard, enjoying being wind chilled
All along the Atlantic coastal plain
They will long feel Dorian's pain
They say "records are made to be broken"
Heads up folks, Dorian has just spoken
New record for Atlantic, Pacific few years ahead
Winds of 185, sure will get you dead
Rip off your roof & toss your car
Place your boat inland, far!
Power poles & cell towers gone
Need survival skills to carry on
Yet fewer heed warnings, fewer have plans
Everyday more carnage & "help me!" demands
More death & destruction with more folks alive
But, our growth & planning just don't jive
Just get in our cars and drive all around
Running on history sucked from the ground
And, while seeming safe, out of harms way
In the woods bugs still gnawing today
Stung on the leg, feet covered in bites
Always prey when out seeing wood sights
Always something looking to dine
On my blood, sweat or tears; any are fine
Something unseen got Breyer's hackles up
Feel much safer walking with my big 'ole pup
Hope coastal friends survived storm ok
Hope survivors got help headed their way
Sadly, not much coming from the top
More lying tweets, another golf course stop
Fortunately, most Americans ready to assist
Most government workers will persist
'Til the job is done well and right
Cuz, we all need help after a fright
And, we all better learn to get along
Since 7 1/2 billion sing the same human song
It's our world, what we've made
Better try and keep a little shade...

Quakes today in the Congo rift
Where Africa's two plates shift
A        Part
Magma giving it a start
Earlier today moon at first quarter
Neap: will help calm tidal water
But, even as Dorian heads out to sea
Wind & rain Northeast will see
Might even hit Newfoundland
Redeposit a little more glacial sand
Six other storms, more likely coming
Who is next for big storm bumming?
Hope it's not you, but are your ready
Planet's cooking, a bit unsteady
Enjoy the lull before next heat wave
Later each year, temperatures grave
Enjoy nice weekend, before next storm
Do what you can, to reverse the new norm
Every mile
Share a smile
Find the joy in today's ride
Easy to find, right outside
Today On Earth!

40 straight days of blogging
Wooooooo!
