Perhaps we should be a bit more wary
With 1000's of stars within 100 light years
And, science fiction fueling our fears
We've been sending signals into space
For 100 years with an increasing pace
Radio shows out 1/2 a quadrillion miles

156 parsecs)
Wonder if we're creating alien smiles
Or just giving them a way to hone in
On our location; current protections thin
100 years, from first flights to visiting Pluto
We really think we're in the know
Still our knowledge is quite small
But, we continue to broadcast to all
Any being more advanced than we
Knows from our signals, where we be
And, while we think light is it for speed
Our knowledge limit, we should concede
Me thinks there's so much to discover
If from our current mess we can recover
Let's hope youth climate strikes lead the way
And, get lots of media coverage today
Cuz, actual issues are well understood
First, let's stop unplanned parenthood
Stop tossing plastic & burning oil
Trade & pay fairly for honest toil
Now realize it makes a lot more sense
To work together for Earth's defense
Cause, seems like someone's noticed us here
By their presence it should be clear
It/they are much smarter than we are
If they really came here from afar
And, if they live like us, "eat or be eaten
How quickly could Earthlings be beaten?
Not sure video games, facebook or twitter
Can keep us from becoming space glitter

Prez'd run like a baby, pants a-fire
Earthlings need to get it together
Lots of coming storms to weather
Still grow & pollute with cancerous zeal
While ignoring threats so very real
On such an amazingly gorgeous day
Hard to see the problems at play
But they are there
Everywhere
Be nice, try and help out
And, hope our planet is not a new route
For a hyper-spatial express route bypass
Never know, but seems we are not alone.
