March Lambs Out

Another bad sleeping night for me
And, another morning chilly as could be
But, the air is finally from the south
And, even with little taste in my mouth
My recovery seems on the way
And, while better, it ain't happening today
But, warm air is nice and coming back
Tomorrow likely 70 we'll crack
And, the dry and warm will continue
Until a front Sunday brings rain, cooler, too
April starts the front cycle again
First cool northern air, as High settles in
Then return flow brings the southern air
Warmer is what makes me get out there
Lot of quakes on earth today
61, but none above 5.4, just a minor sway
18 volcanoes on the week's list
Guatemala's Fuego should be missed
15-25 explosions per hour
Make for a nasty rock shower
If you had clear skies and early eyes
Waning crescent moon, Jupiter surprise
Tomorrow's moon is just above Saturn
By April 1st Venus gets it's turn
Gotta go, take a stroll
Put my dog on patrol
Hope you're feeling better than me
And, that you get on out and see
What a delightful planet this be
Today On Earth

Mueller Thriller

DonnyJonny daChump claims he's off the hook
But we all know he's a slimy liar and crook
Con man, racist and misogynist pig
Running his mouth in a yellow wig
Hoping prison orange will be his new look!

Clouds coming on in
With maybe a little light rain
Cool mornings, warm days

Still Chilly, Wet Northeast!

Quick TOE today
Down Carolina way
Our rain is done
Northeast best run
Storm turning into Nor'easter
Gonna be a beaster
Ring of Fire still erupting
Stay away from that disrupting
Pretty shaky Thursday
Usually spots in play
Gotta go and get fed
Early for me out of bed
Golfing requires early rising
Hope my swing low on surprising
Today on Earth!

Sun Returns, Still Cool

Winter continues its last stand
But sun is warming up the land
The wandering dog is back home
After his last, early morning roam
A little quaking down New Zealand way
Recovering from another killer racist day
Killing muslims ok to shithole daChump
How long to get over this presidential bump
How many more die from easy guns
How many more parents create racist sons
About 100 folks in US will die today
From NRA encouraged cheap gun play
War and oil still fueling the greed
Just how much money do they need
How many bodies to fuel that bomber plane
Earth still don't care that we're insane
We won't change but planet continues to
Got to be bottom up, from me and you
Cuz the folks in charge don't care
Congress' plan: just to stay right there
Get in office and never leave
While worker bees still struggle and grieve
And, pay the way
Everyday
For uneducated poor
And rich, greedy, corporate whores
Today on Earth

But, on a sweeter note
Moon was gorgeous last night
Venus, Saturn and Jupiter a morning sight
Still a lovely world
When we aren't hating or killing each other
So, check out this cute kid
Now a young man
Saw his mom yesterday
Found the pic
Made her day
And mine
And, I bet his when he sees it!
Bet it makes your's
From April 2007
At a rough tire house

A Cool St. Patrick's Day

High pressure, the air pushing down
Very dry with low temps all around
Chilly times from coast to coast
Yet winter is mostly done; toast
But, the cool will linger into spring
Even as the sun crosses the equator thing
Which occurs Wednesday evening about 6
And, starts the northern warming fix
But, still the week ahead will be cool
No thoughts of heading to the pool
Quite a shaky day along boundary zones
Heat inside escaping, the surface moans
Shaking the Azores on mid-Atlantic ridge
While Indonesia slipped another smidge
California, Chile, Alaska still shaking
And, Greece, Japan, India, Tonga quaking
In quiet Va. the sky is so clear
Sun is warming, moon light in full gear
Get out tonight
For a walk in moon light
Layer up, gonna have to dress warm
Least cool air slows mosquito swarm
Always a challenge, living on Earth
Get out wander, increase the mirth

Beware the Ides of March: A Taste of Spring, Then Winter Finishes!

The last few days, taste of Spring
Alas, we all know, here's the thing
This time of year
It should be clear
Winter seems to have a way
Of sliding back into play
Just ask folks in the western USA
About the wild blizzard there today
We are on the warm side of the storm
That's good, 90 mph wind is not the norm
Or is it...the new norm
Warming energy swarm

Just found the first tick of the year
From dog or woods walk, unclear
So, a little chill might slow that scourge
Warm air and everyone gets the urge
To get down and breed
Spring, creatures feel the need
The peepers have been peeping
No reason to be sleeping
When love is in the air
Pollen and song everywhere
Yet the harsh reality, ain't no jive
Them bugs want to, eat you alive!

One big quake, magnitude 6.3
And, just now 4.7 in Chile
PNG and New Zealand also shaken
Not a big shock they are quakin'
21 volcanoes on the list this week
If exploding mountains you seek
Indonesia leads the list with five
But, Kamchatka's four also plenty alive
With Sheveluch warning planes away
Peru's Sabancaya cranking 15 explosions a day
Reunion Island was oozing, now on break
Kilauea still on a dormant streak

Waxing moon now in its gibbous phase
Moving into spring constellation maze
Clear or clouds it'll be bright tonight
With our satellite bouncing our star's light
Morning planet show has spread a bit
While in the evening, Mars is it
Get out and enjoy today's mild air
I know it has awoken a least on bear
Not here, but not very far away
So, I guess I'll have to say
Be ready and willing to share the wood
But, Today on Earth, outside is so good!

A Few Dry Days

The ground is still soft, muddy-ish but no clouds and no rain until Friday. A welcome break where after a record year we are already ahead of last year's total for rain. Last night the waxing crescent moon was hanging with Mars, tonight will be in Taurus' face, the Hyades. Aldebaran, the red eye of Taurus is nearby. If you have clear skies (and it's looking like that here), the bright stars and constellations of winter are high in the sky after sunset.
Really quiet day of quakes, nothing even magnitude 5. Yesterday, saw a good little shake at Tanaga volcano in the Aleutians, we'll see what the USGS volcano site has to say tomorrow.
Very average temps for this time in March here; spring you always want it warmer than it seems to be - but so do the bugs!
Still, a pretty nice day to get out and wander your world, Today On Earth.

daChump still a fool
Says something stupid, denies
Then tells a new lie

Still Gross But Hope For Change

Clouds, rain, gloom & cold
Are really getting old
Throw in a haircut & shave
With living in a tire cave
So ready for spring in VA
Or just some sunshine this way
And, it could happen today
With a warm front into play
The start of Daylight Saving Time
Earlier from idiot congress slime
Put bus waiting kids in the dark
To serve some industry lark
But, hey it's always about money
Congress think about kids, that's funny
While daChump sucking republicans deny
The fat orange prez is a spy
His buddies keep going away
To prison everyday

Standard-ish earthquake day
Couple of mag. 6 PNG & Fiji way
And, other boundaries usual scene

And, A Little Dusting!

While the weather guys said no snow
I'm back to tell you that just ain't so
A nice little dusting this afternoon
But a hope for spring real soon
After days of sun with cold
Yesterday's halo foretold
Precipitation for today
Snow, down our way❄

Magnitude 6.0 Philippine quake
Topped today's list on the planet that shake
With the southwest edge of the fire ring
Being the spot today's quakes are happening
I heard Popo is really blasting in Mexico
And, Piton de la Fournaise is ready to blow
Both blowing new Earth right on out
A hot, rocking planet, there ain't no doubt
Me, time to get on out
And, walk in the snow
It's where I'm gonna go
Get on out, check out your world

More Rain, More Cold!

Wet and cold, but not enough to snow
That's the way this winter seems to go
6+ inches of rain in the last two weeks
Crazy wind, swollen rivers, flooded creeks
Quite the shock after my southern tour
But, what I expected when I went out the door
And, now high pressure builds, temps fall
A week like mid-January, y'all!
A quiet quake day and week
4 corners Colorado & W.Va. bit of a freak
And, moon is nearing new
Too close to the sun to view
Clear mornings still quite the planet show
Jupiter up high, Saturn middle, Venus low
Mars still out in evening, Mercury gone
That quick moving planet never out long
Winter constellations setting early
Now Leo & Virgo raising surely
Gonna be cold but finally mostly clear
Bundle up, check out the sky with a beer
Three different woodpeckers on the suet
Downy, Red Bellied and Hairy, going to it
Birds are glad we are back
Feeders long empty from their attack
Then there's the bird seed eatin' dog
Slurping it up like a hungry hog
This time next week: Daylight Savings Time
More on that with a future rhyme
Until then, get out on your world

MARCH But Still Winter

Big wind after heavy rain
More of the same, again
Two Leyland Cypress blown down
Most beech leaves on the ground
Creek out of its banks, once more
Sand deposits, erosion for sure
Now back home to more of the same
Nice down south, here still winter's game
More rain, near ice and cold air
More daylight, yet here
It's clear
Spring ain't near

7.0 quake early morn in Peru
Near border, Bolivia shaking, too
40+ quakes in last 24 hours
Plate shifts, reminds of Earth powers
Unless we frack, pump salt water deep
Greed now, while problems creep
Future will keep showing
How our mess is growing
Just no way of knowing
How next crisis will be blowing
Up in our face
At current pace
Yet, still we whine, I don't believe
Earth don't care, we can't deceive
We can improve
Go with the groove
Earth provides all we need
But, gotta lose the greed
Always a test
Hope you pass
Hope you enjoy
Today on Earth
