One more day before summer heat return
Should be cooler, season about to turn
But, with atmosphere jacked up on CO2
Sunlight comes shining on through
Changes to infrared and heads back out
Greenhouses gasses create a new route
Back down toward ground
To careen all around
Heat wants to move to cold
But, methane & CO2 like blanket fold
Saying, "stay and keep us warm"
Don't worry about mosquito swarm
Or gigantic mega-hurricane
Massive droughts, wildfire pain
Bio-migration or sea level rise
Or whatever will be next surprise
Cuddle up in your new atmosphere
But, won't need blankets, I fear
Shorter ski seasons, I'll regret..
