Friday starts a week of skipping school
Youth taking a stand, as politicians drool
These kids are smart and they realize
We keep adding poison to their skies
We'll be dead, but they'll still be here

Oil polluted water no one can drink
Countless species on extinction's brink
Driven by greed & more oil extraction
Corporate lies, distortions & distraction
Our moron prez, orange head up their ass
Changing laws so cars use more gas
Inspectors gone, more refinery explosions
Government's job: protection; mega-erosions
Think of Bush's damage in 8 years time
Way worse in only 4, with current slime
Few quakes today, Indonesia & PNG
Most of Earth processes science can see
Atmospheric CO2 just hit all time high
Only kids seem to see reality passing us by
While in Texas Imelda dumps massive rain
Wasn't Harvey's warning pretty plain
Meanwhile, Jerry grows out in Atlantic
New climate world should have us frantic
To change, reduce, recycle & agree
On our new human fueled reality
Still fools say I don't "believe"
Prayer & superstition will relieve
All our troubles, all our pain
In 2019, can only see that as insane!
And, as I mention in most every blog
Earth don't care if we live in mental fog
Current atmosphere traps more heat
Hurricanes move it, pretty neat
When temperatures rise, ice gonna melt
Earth just playing the hand we dealt
Kids stepping up to deal with our mess
But, to fix root issue, need to breed less
Women need to demand contraception
Stable couples only, move to conception
Plan & have only one or two great kids
Will Earth or humans apply population lids
We can do it, or the Earth will
Like it or not, that is the reality pill
We've evolved on an amazing place
Still we breed like it's some kind of race
Don't need to multiply
Simple addition will get us by
Here's a closing scary thought
Our economy runs on stuff that's bought
In xmas shopping season, so help us out
Buy, buy, buy & ease recession doubt
Or don't, and let corporations suffer
Work to create a bigger buffer
Between reality and greed
Ponder what you really need
Bet it could be less not more
Gotta slam the corporate door
Give it a thought, do what you can
Vote for the woman, not the man!
And, get outside, it's gorgeous
