BIG..magnitude 8.1 and that was after a 7.4 foreshock and after the 7.3 earlier yesterday to the northeast of New Zealand along Aussie/Pacific plate boundary, subduction, reverse/thrust faulting, big slips...dozens of aftershocks in the 5 & 6 range; tsunami warnings that have now expired. Greece also hammered again with a 5.8 quake. Earth is on the move!!
A big tongue of Canadian High pressure has moved into mid-Atlantic, sunny but cool and breezy out, a cool weekend but with mostly sun. No hints of rain deep into next week...so we'll go from swamp to fire danger, the fickle nature of spring..like Earth cares..lol!!
Va TrumpVirus deaths back down..must have gotten them all recorded..Cali & Taxus still surge on, the Loon Star state closing in on NY's total, the early death epicenter. Up to 520,000 dead Americans total and while there are good signs we are still waaaay above last summer's numbers when we thought we'd peaked. But, NO! No leadership, No truth telling, No masks and No end to the virus that was and still is donny the douche.
Mars and Subaru still lovely last night. Mercury (dim) & Jupiter (bright) might be visible to anyone up pre-dawn with a good look east and binocs; but, a tough spot! Sunspots remain tiny, well, still bigger than Earth but no big solar threats.
