The sun crossed over the equator at 5:37 EDT this morning beginning spring in the northern hemisphere and fall down under. At about the same time, a magnitude 7.0 quake was slipping and sliding rock just off the north coast of Japan. That's 10 years and 9 days after a 9.0 quake hammered the country with a tsunami killing 22K and a month and a few days after another 7+ quake in about the same spot. Shaky times and they know that there..but, sometimes Earth is just too much.
Several other good shakes today; along the northern Mid-Atlantic ridge at 5.8, 6.2 off Antarctica along another mid-ocean ridge, just now in Indonesia and several still north of New Zealand well into the mag. 5's. Is the sun's gravity, centered perfectly over Earth tugging so evenly it's stirring quakes? Not a hypothesis, conspiracy theory, just a thought and certainly tough to test..just a ponderable snippet from my brain.. It's Saturday and maybe I watched tooooo much bball yesterday.. Whoa, since I typed this, more 5+ quakes in W. China and S. Kamchatka..shaky times indeed!!
Big time High pressure rules the east (30.53" right now, that's high pressure) so skies are clear but with air from the north, it's cool. Gradual warming as the week progresses before the storm now raining and snowing in the far NW of the US makes it's way here later next week. Spring is arriving, sun angle and daylight's length will not be denied.
Those clear skies revealed quite the sky show last night; the thick crescent moon with earthshine easily visible parked right above the red twins, Mars and Aldebaran, gorgeous! Will be nice tonight as well!!
Another 1,517 American died from TrumpVirus yesterday (although 348 seems a bit high even for Ohio..maybe a week's deaths, unreported..who knows, they voted for donny the douche twice so probably think masks are for sissies and commies, die on TDS* just stay away from me), Cali and Taxus still leading the way..well, Ohio??? Texican deaths slowly catching the former leader but still second, NY (poor Andy Cuomo, everybody picking on him for being a viral death liar and serious male pig, poor baby..).
Two bird feeders, again, empty. Feathered feast rages on. Time to get a dog and hope there is some English Premier league football on (the real football, where you use your feet, skill and speed over brute strength).
