We're not breaking heat records here but we do have a serious case of the muggies; only 71 overnight and with dew point at 70...MUGGY. North of here, they continue to smash record as the heat wave oozes across the land. No relieve for a couple more days, storms stayed well west of here but the ones that popped dumped big rain in a short time...local flooding.
Disturbance off the Yucatan has a slight chance of spinning into a tropical system, the Gulf and Caribbean waters are hot, already well into the 80's.
Latest CO2 data shows no slow down as we burn and flood our atmosphere with the heat holding gas; 0.0419%...which doesn't sound like much but it's higher than at least the last 4.5 million years and it was 7 degrees warmer than with sea levels much higher; our rapidly approaching future.
Most of the quakes on today's list are aftershocks in SoCal and NE of Puerto Rico along the actual plate boundary. Otherwise only 20 world wide with 4 reaching magnitude 5 and only the sea floor shaken.
News and stories are building about the upcoming partial solar eclipse about 43 hours from now; it will be already underway when the sun rises Thursday morning for the east coast (well... down to GA). EYE PROTECTION NEEDED!
