Hopes For A New Year/Decade

Storms up North: West & East
Elsewhere; a sunshine feast
As we wind down 2019
Not the craziest year we've seen
But, it's been close
Earth could use a big dose
Of human sanity
For those that refuse to see
The evil tweeting in plain sight
To the rest of us, serious fright
There is hope if we see
A new president at the end of 2020
Man or woman, straight or gay
But, Punk'n Head prez gotta go away
Too much evil elsewhere
For USA not to care
4 more years of this nightmare
And, chaos will reign everywhere
Still Earth won't care at all
Humans here for a time so small
We'll be gone, Earth still spinning
Other creatures soon be winning
Still be quakes, many or few
Still volcanoes blasting through
Still be storms, hurricane & snow
Still be Earth, but we won't know
And, as clever as we actually are
Be a shame if we're just a fossil scar
So, step up, speak out, work for change
Find a way to help rearrange
The simple known facts
Into helpful,  positive acts
We can do it, change to good
Can happen in every neighborhood
But, it better be soon
We ain't movin' to the moon
So, go out and check the sky
As a new year draws nigh
The Moon & Venus
What an eye rush!
Dream of a fine future
For all Earthlings
Today On Your Planet
Your only home!
Be safe, be happy!
Onward to 2020
