December Tomatoes

They're not as tasty as mid-summer
But, Florida tomatoes are a bummer
So, until a frost is coming I wait
Then pretty green, I harvest late
Sit them by a window in the sun
Slowly red turn everyone
🍅
And, then I eat them & remember
Summer past, in early December
And, they are quite tasty
Not flavorless and pasty
Like store bought from sunshine state
The gross tomatoes we all hate
Grown in "soil" petrochemical dead
Tended by immigrants packed in sheds
Doing jobs "Americans" won't do
Picking fruits & veggies for you
So, don't buy winter tomatoes
Almost as bad as GMO potatoes

Saturn, Venus & Jupiter in a line
Evenly space above last sunshine
🌇
Venus is so shiny & bright
Jupiter, low, a disappearing sight
Comparatively, Saturn quite dim
Even in cirrus, viewing chances slim
But, all three peeked out last night
With sunset glow, an eye delight
Watching over, first quarter moon
Every changing, check it soon

Yesterday east, today it's Pacific west
Cuz plate tectonics knows what's best
All around Japanese archipelago
Rock is slipping, letting go
Also, central Eurasian plate
Seems every ready for shaky date
Afghanistan, Oklahoma & PNG
Another day of quakes they see
Or feel
The boundary or fracking deal

Few snow pellets fell over night
Long gone after first light
Sun is trying to break through
Hope it's shining down on you
A cool day, not really cold
Red Oak leaves still on hold
Most of rest already on the ground
Gravity always tugging down
'Bout time to get my wayward dog
And, wrap up this here blog
Thanks for checking in
Now get on out & share a grin
More grins will keep the guns away
And, we'll all live another day
Let's hope
Today On Earth
