What A Lovely Planet!

Today on Earth, so gentle and serene

Cool & dry, what a lovely scene

Earthquake list is very light

Except Italy, volcanoes not a fright

Last quarter moon sets in deep blue sky

Got a big brown dog always hanging by

Hummers slurping syrup, finches eating seed

Life so simple, hardly any need

But...

We know that's not true

Change waiting to shine on through

In Oklahoma still blowing up shale

Waste leaving pollution, earthquake trail

Magma moving plates, pressures never cease

Until the next big earthquake's release

Subduction causing melting, this we know

So, where on Ring will next mountain blow

And, even though today is so nice

Warming temps rapidly melting ice

Human population continues to expand

Cut down trees, get blowing sand

Keep building bombs instead of schools

Economy strong from shopping? Such fools

Here at home we have a moron "in charge"

UK joined into ego-maniac barrage

Each listening to what we want to hear

Another's ideas cause such fear

Well, fellow Earthlings just remember

Moon pics remind us we're each a member

Of the Earthing club

No other place we can sub

We might return to moon or visit Mars

But, we've got one place among the stars

Earth

Place of our birth

And, again, for what it's worth

Our sweet planet doesn't care

Just neither here nor there

If we are here or not

If it's cold or if it's hot

Just gotta follow the rules

Adapt, Migrate or Die, you fools

Fungi, Bacteria, Dinosaur, Man

We want to stay, need a better plan

Breed, eat, buy & bomb less

Keep beliefs personal, don't profess

Hop on a bike

Wander Earth, take a hike

Smile when you greet

Everyone you meet

We're all in this together

Gonna be a change in the weather

And, long term, climate

You know I'm gonna rhyme it
