Heat is cooking the whole southeast
High pressure dome, truly a beast
The only relief we're likely to get
Is if by a thunderstorm we are hit
No break in the heat til early next week
So, water, AC or cool beverages seek
In the cooler north, Alaska's shaking
North to south, biggest state's quaking
North slope 5.3 and several in the 4's
But no tsunami from ruffled sea-floors
More shaking today east on the Ring
Usual spots where plate boundaries sing
Arkansas & Oklahoma shaking, too
Fracking cheap oil for me and for you

Caught Jupiter & Saturn last night
Low in the south, both very bright
New moon & S. American eclipse
Moon blocked sun, the shadow slips
Across Pacific, Chile & Argentina
Moon's shadow did careen-a
Next moon shadow across USA
2024, little less than 5 years away
