Hunting season's over, at least 3 deer survived
They took off, casually, when I arrived
With a large brown dog on a walk
Breyer didn't see 'em, they didn't want to talk
Sometimes deer will linger for a chat
Ears perked, curious, what's with that
But, always, they eventually take off
Often giving me a cough, snort or a scoff!

Time to get some charcoal going
If later smoked pork I'll be showing
At a monthly gathering of friends
To catch up on news and trends
A likely topic, government shut down

Well, on the coasts a spring high tide
With last night's eclipsing new moon
Might have reminded them of changes soon
A warming earth and ice a'melting
Massive storms and heat that's sweltering
It's all coming, then throw in some quakes
And, volcanic eruptions tectonics makes
For a wild, wild place
Death, destruction, joy & grace
