While much of the US is stuck in frigid air
Large brown dog eats bird seed, not a care
But, he's not outside for long
Cause calling it cold is wrong
It is frigid, straight from the North Pole
Bundle up, still burrows into your soul
Which made eclipse watching tricky
Dart out, take a peek, make it a quickie!
I took some pics but most were a blur
The wind, cold, branches, not sure
It's not in focus but sure blood moon
Hope you caught it, not another anytime soon
Checked flooding reports, nothing yet
But, marina parking lots under water, I bet
Wasn't flooding issue in New Orleans last night
Cost them a super bowl trip, so not right
Picky, picky picky all season long
But, playoffs: let 'em play, just wrong
Super bowl should be Brees vs. Brady
Rams being there make it seem quite shady
Very sad
Saints were had
Bad taste of the No Call will linger
So, to Goodell and zebras we raise a finger
Protect the players? get it right?
Just like politics, keep their might
daChump still got government shut down
Millions still screwed by this idiot clown
Create a mess, blame others and lie
It's how he's always gotten by
And, tomorrow we find out our local fate
Millions wasted or start with a clean slate
Positive, sustainable forward looking plan
Or more of the same, from good 'ole boy clan
Their vote tomorrow will let us know
How they really think we should go
Ignore the basic Earth rules
Or pretend it doesn't matter, the fools!
A step outside today will remind you
The Earth is in charge, and oblivious, too
So, maybe we should pay better attention
Rules: Adapt, Migrate or Die...did I mention
Hope you get out and relish in the cold
Still a fine day, truth be told
But, bundle up for all you're worth
