The tree's show of color exploded today
And, the wind took my mossy green yard away
Now it's a shifting sea of dead leaf brown
Noisy, the howling wind, leaves rustling around
November began with a late summer feel
Later and later warmth, the very new real
My wandering dog is still not back
He will return, he will want a snack
Today's quake list numbers are low
But, 6.2 in Chile heads up that show
Another off Portugal, Greece still after-shocking
The volcano list has 18 wild mountains a-rocking
The Pacific Ring rules volcanoes and quakes
And, today I met two people that have what it takes
To work to change the political tone
We showed up to remind them, they're not alone
Abigail and Tim, impressive but down to earth
Proof American values and honesty have worth
Positive ideas and plans not mistrust and fear
Get out and vote, perhaps good tidings will appear
The wind it still swirls and the brown dog returns
The approach of a front and a treat he has earned
