After a two day breather, breathing today requires moisture tolerance as the normal summer heat and humidity return to VA. Hottest day forecast to be tomorrow but 90's 'til Thursday when Elsa may pass to our east (or right over us, no one truly knows) and/or a cold front may bring some clouds and showers.
Today, Elsa is about to make landfall on Cuba, a country likely more prepared for hurricanes than the collection of refugees and retirees just to the north in the state of Denial (aka:Florida). Forecasts call for a good west coast raking by the storm; we'll all know by week's end what happened.
The rest of the half collapsed building was brought down not long ago creating an even bigger rubble pile that the storm will give a good soaking to, a major tragedy and a major mess but will the deniers heed the warning; rising seas, shoddy construction on sand bars is not a good mix.
Another fairly low shake day around the world. A 4.1 shake in central Wyoming..but, got mountains, probably going to have the occasional shake, not close to Yellowstone. Only quakes at mag. 5 waaaay out in oceans.
Heat wave continues it's slow creep across northern tier, not quite as hot as when cooking west coast.
The sunspot that just turned away from Earth had fired off the first X-class flare in 4 years, signs the new cycle is heating up. The thin, waning crescent will be above Taurus's Aldebaran tomorrow before dawn and above Mercury Wednesday morning heading toward New on Saturday. Venus beams on, but still low, in the west after sunset with dim Mars dropping closer by the day; binocs for Mars and the darker the better.
Very few reports of TrumpVirus deaths, not surprising it was the 4th of July and with today's government offices shut down for the holiday, not likely to be much tomorrow. Reality is, if you're vaccinated you aren't going to die from virus; if not and like many that are not, you are obese and sedentary, good chance if you get Delta variant, it will get you. Seems the TDS* would have figured out, that their boy both got it and got vaccinated...he lies about it but knows the reality and has his fat ass covered..by a lot of fabric. Less republican deniers alive to vote, or shoot ya, that's a good thing.
Local gun blasting asswipes in full blast mode last night, waaaaay beyond guns, sounded like bombs going off, insane. Bet they feel all patriotic today, bet none have ever read Declaration of Independence or any of the constitution but one sentence fragment in the 2nd amendment. Like the bible, they wave it around but have not a clue..that Jesus was a peace guy. Democracy remains tenuous, pay attention, Today On Earth.
