Today is Make A Dog's Day

A day to bring home a stray

Or throw a lot of love their way

Or take your's out for extra play

Cause a dog makes life so much better

Poodle, Chow, Mongrel, Lab or Setter

Ruffle one come rain or shine

A dog ain't nothing but fine!

The storm spawning a Dallas tornado

Is here, I'm watching the water flow

At least it has toned down a bit

Those mountains give a storm a hit

But, we got rain, the drought is gone

Leaves having trouble hanging on

Still mostly green in my forest

More color on Ridge to the west

With cooler air mass heading this way

Should put first frost on display

Front is cruising, gone later today

With fine weather headed our way

Could be unsettled this weekend

More rain, more drought mend

Two Indo/Aussie boundary shakes

Collision, subduction, rocky breaks

Not one on map in lower 48

But, we won't have long to wait

It's Earth, it's gonna keep movin'

Shifting to get pressure removin'

Early risers still peek out

Orionid meteors are about

Likely spot a crescent moon

But, should be out til almost noon

When I'm more likely to be up

On late morning retrieval of my pup

I'm a lucky guy with lucky dog

And, join that dog in a nap
