Wild, Windy & Cool

Welcome to Fall!! The leaves are colorful and flying; maples red, poplar and hickory bold yellow and the oaks are still green while the dogwoods and gum in the understory shimmer red. The rain is gone, leaving over an inch and a half in the gauge, the tropical system from the south swept out by the deep low pressure of a powerful cold front and we are left with a cool day made cooler by a blustery north wind. Hats will be flying.  Cumulus clouds have begun to roll in, formed from all the moisture, and are darkening what was a brilliant sunny day.  Get out the sweaters and enjoy.
