For at least another day
Summer muggies gone away
Cold Front & little rain
VA is singing happy refrain
But, southern air is not done
Even as we lose a little sun
August heat will soon return
Out west, fires continue to burn
Warming world still deeply felt
Extreme weather, ice on the melt
Still we burn, cranking the CO2
Still we breed, unplanned babies, too
Whining you got the right
But, no food, no job in sight
Whining they are my responsibility
But, peek in the mirror, you'll see
Who's at fault, that would be you
Still deniers deny, look to sue
The unvaxed still claiming; hoax
As their lungs fill, away life chokes
Mitch, donnie, Kevin don't care
But, power..they don't want to share
Onward Earth spins, unconcerned
Flood or drought, burned or unburned
Quakes still quaking
House walls still shaking
Living on a boundary zone
Little help coming from your phone
When solar blast fries the system
And, little to be done to resist 'em
Fortunately, sun remains mostly quiet
Sunspots not having much of a riot
But how about a happy note
Today my world continues to float
While Louisa teachers are back to work
Here, responsibilities I continue to shirk
Wooooooooooo, year 4 starts today
Ninth grader blues long gone away
Bad part, retirement means extended age
But, not working, soooo glad to turn that page
Cuz, I am a Holladay
Always been looking to play
To to get it done, Today On Earth
