Got The Rain, Missed The Wind

Little over an inch of rain
But, without the pain
Of the wind
That will tend
To send
Roofs & trees a'flying
That happened further down
All across Dixie town
Warm front now, Cold coming
Still could be local bumming
Later on this Friday
As we head toward May
March was dry, April wet
Change the only safe bet
Like..sun just popped out
But, just to give quick shout
Clouds still in charge today
But, Sun will have final say
Cuz even though it is far
It is still a huge nearby star
And, is the reason we are here
Thinking otherwise is unclear
Today On Earth

Not a big day of quake damage
No really big rock slammage
Mag. 5.4 on Pacific plate
No boundary to relate??
Northern Japan & off Mexico
Usual shakes off Puerto Rico
Hawai'i, little quakes, no eruption
Seems a day of limited destruction
Or from Earth's view, construction
Humans still needing Earth instruction
And, that's what I try to do
Earth heads-up to you
Earth's rules are plain to see
No longer much mystery
What is really tragic
Still want "god" to work magic
But, religion got us in this mess
Male control caused distress
New direction must be female
Then science can prevail
Kick loose the greed
Focus on need
First step toward the good
Plan parenthood
One or two great kids
Puts on the lids
To growth like a cancer
Contraception, easy answer
Keep your beliefs inside
Everyone gotta decide
All by themselves
Today On Earth

Steve Earl's new song
Devil Put The Coal In The Ground
Nope!!
Just natural Earth processes
Formed the coal (& oil & gas)
Human greed & gluttony
Ripped up the Earth
To set it "free"
And, that's where we be
Suckling hydrocarbon teat
Just know we gotta beat
Slimy republicans this fall
Otherwise, all
We have learned goes away
And, stupidity rules the day
And, climate change hits the fan
With no hope, with no plan
Excuses won't get it done
Need Punk'n Head on the run
That would be fun
To see, his fat ass run....
Today on Earth
