Another quick change of air mass
Today will, later, come to pass
Earth just ain't sitting still
And, Pacific rim sure ain't chill
Lots of quakes around the Ring
Both subduction & that rifting thing
None seem to have done big damage
Just pressure relief from plate slammage
And, quakes will, like eruptions, continue
Yesterday, an uptick on hurricane menu
El Nino has calmed, no more shearing
So later this month, more storms veering
Our way,
Your way,
Who can say
Sittin' here today
What we do know
Ocean has warmed a little mo'
Ice melt is speeding up
So, atmosphere will sup
More water into the sky
Means mo' rain, flooding by & by
Still living on a flood plain?
Just waiting for the pain
From bigger, longer rains
Till the bank no longer contains
Your river, creek, stream
All will flood, not extreme
Not gods will or evil plan
Just Earth reacting to man
And, the changes we have fueled
As we have extracted and tooled
Our way to...
Well, we just don't know
Do we?
But, we're gonna find out
Earth will let us know, no doubt
