Same Old, Same Old

This little ditty was sent off to the editor of the Central Virginian earlier today, looking like it will be in this Thursday edition...Written for the worthless, Andy Wade, economic development director in name only cuz he ain't developed anything..don't think he does anything, the classic, smug, rich, preppy bitch!! Enjoy Andy

Looking Back Toward the Future

Same Old, Same Old

Round Old Louisa county, story’s are told

Bout our leaders, they keep acting so old

Same old bill of goods we’re being sold

Yet no broadband and our pool sits in the cold

Same old Board, always looking back

Into the past, to see our future track

Perhaps it’s time to give them the old sack

Give some new folks and ideas a crack

Keep hearing same old scams, dreams and lies

More money for Timmons, that’s no surprise

As high paid consultants, don’t seem very wise

More like yes men in very thin disguise

Same old James quagmire, in deeper we wade

Still no water but same old crowd getting paid

Paid for what, we’d all like to know

Got a job, but no results, time you should go

Now 2.5 million more tax dollars, when will it stop

Want more pipelines but still not a drop

Economic development, none that we see

Like water, from the James River.. Authority?

Hundreds complained, thought we were heard

But..the old board went back on their word

Citizens beg for broadband, a top for the pool

Old “leaders” keeps playing tax payers for the fool

But, happy to give tax breaks, freebies for a few

And, all paid for by me and by you

“Come for free water, free power, free gas

Come and for years, you’ll get a free tax pass”

But, ya know, I’d be willing to bet

We’ll all have broadband before a waterline’s wet

And, kids that are in kindergarten today

As HS grads won’t have jobs down Shannon Hill way

A wise man will admit when they’re wrong

But our old “leaders”, singing same old sad song

The future’s unknown but rushing our way

We’ll not get there by returning to yesterday

Yes, I’m old, but I still try and learn

And, I know the past is never going to return

So much potential here for future success

But, not as a bulldozed, industrial mess

Promote and keep our quiet, trees and farms

A refuge away from the mad, nearby swarms

Yet, same old, same old seems their only play

Same old greed and excuses, their only way

So, it’s time Louisa, time for reflection

Time to give the old board a big rejection

Time for a new ideas, new energy injection

Time to vote out the old in the coming election!!
