It's an American/Mexican holiday
Pounding margaritas on 5th of May
But, another party day is shut down
Since the corona virus came to town
But, for the Earth, times are good
Things are more like they should
Air is cleaner, less light pollution
Virus seems to be a solution
To the problem we humans are
Alas, maybe it's gone too far..
Or perhaps it's a look
At how little time it took
To return to the way it was
Before all our human buzz
We can hear noises from space
Even quakes have slowed their pace
Quickly animals moving back in
To where human crowds are thin
But, while change can be quick
We've still made the planet sick
Decades/centuries to lower CO2
And, to cycle plastic through
Ocean life
Decades of strife
Just think what might of been
If no space rock crashed dino scene
Likely no humans here today
But, mammals got a chance to play
Then an ancestor ate burnt meat
Cooked food, an energy treat
For an ape with a big brain
Suddenly Africa couldn't constrain
The growing mass of humanity
And, today, here we be
Hunkered inside, thinking
Of Mexican beer we ain't drinking
No enchiladas Navidad or sopapilla
Mexican eateries, not gonna seeeeya
Cuz, smart folks are still locked down
While dumbasses wander around
Virus about to take a trip
Up the mighty Mississip
Prez sucking fools thinking immune
Virus will soon sing a different tune
Cuz in the central USA
Virus is coming your way
Unhealthy, obese, unprepared
For a war the virus declared
Believe what you hear on the fox?
You're about to meet reality: the pox
Can blame where it's from
But it is now among
Us all
'Til way past Fall
So, huddle up at daChump rally
We'll hunker & watch death tally
To, no big surprise
Continue to rise
Today On Earth
Quake numbers really are down
And, rain is back in this town
That'll block any meteor view
Or moon light coming through
Temps in 50's, now are stuck
Making it easy to continue your luck
At home
No need to roam
'Cept to track down a dog
Soon as I wrap this blog
Won't do no good to complain
About a little cold rain
Sure keeping the scene
Green, green, green
