Did I Mention...It's Still Muggy!!

The swamp-like feel of Va. in the summertime is still upon us, clinging; close, as we like to say and it ain't soon going away. Storms remain in the mountainous terrain to my west, drawing closer each day; best chances seem tomorrow and Friday with serious deluges in the forecast.
Severe storm watch boxes in NoDak and eastern Montana last night, where the jet stream reigns. Fire season is well underway out west, drought conditions grow worse by the day, still we pump CO2 into the atmosphere, cruising the Egyptian rivah through the heart of 'Merica: Da Nile!!
Only 2 quakes, both off Japan at magnitude 5 today, still a little shaky along the plate boundary NE of Puerto Rico, Cali aftershocks seem no more.
The New Moon will be visible tomorrow morning as is slides directly between Earth and the Sun. It's at apogee though and too far from us to block our star completely, an annular eclipse, the full ring effect seen only up in Canada and Greenland. Find your eclipse shades, EYE PROTECTION IS NEEDED FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT and get up early, eclipse already underway at sunrise.
Venus remains (for the rest of 2021) as the evening star but still low in the west after sunset. It was nice to see the Goddess of Love shining down upon friend's surprise nuptials Saturday evening!!
Several hundred American are still dying every day from the TrumpVirus and with the country mostly open, business as usual, but with barely half vaccinated and the dumbasses that aren't certainly not wearing a mask, I'm guessing that number will remain in the low hundreds/day for most of the summer, if not well into the fall. The insipid virus that is donny the lying douche still raging in the twisted, racist, overworked, fatty hearts of his clan of mo-ron "believers". America trying to hold on to democracy amidst a sea(polluted puddle) of fascists.
Time to get a very patient dog out for a stroll, he is not a fan of the heat, and we got that...Today On Earth.
I think this box turtle (yea, I know, really a tortoise) was laying her eggs but I didn't want to interrupt.
