Smelling The Change

Yesterday on our evening stroll
I heard a rustle, a change foretold
There it was, just the slightest breeze
Barely stirring the bone dry trees
Still I waited, then a deep inhale
From the north, a humidity trail
Another rustle, a tiny cooling
Mid-summer heat no longer ruling
That tiny change, a backdoor front
Soon gone with a stronger shunt
And, today, it feels more like Fall
Breezy & cool, indigo skies for all
Then outside after sun's fading glow
For the Moon & Jupiter show

And, what a delightful show; so fine
Lunar mountains, craters & earthshine
Tonight the moon, an eastward shift
On toward Saturn will drift
Tonight above Sagittarius's teapot
Saturday: 1/4 moon, ringed world: hot!
Uranus is out there too, eastern sky
Went our later, tried to spy
Nope! motion lights & way overhead
Need to try earlier, no lights instead
Summer Triangle, Milky Way
What an amazing visual display
Check it out, tonight
Alright!

Bring binocs or camera on tripod
Good lunar views & pix, it ain't hard
In other news around the world
No big earthquakes have hurled
The ground up and then back down
Or sent tsunami waves around
Caribbean plate still adjusting
Otherwise, not much rock busting
Just lovely weather in most of USA
Get out & check it out today
Then tonight check the skies
More delights for you eyes
Avoid the news, Punk'n Head traitor
He thought he was elected dictator
Out of touch & he thought out of reach
Will senate grow a spine, vote to impeach
We & fellow earthlings need a change
And, with soon priorities, a rearrange
Listen to the kids out in the street
Put war, oil & greed in retreat
We can change, we can switch
Stop digging into a deeper ditch
Help where you can, play a part
Earth or humans with a new start?
We'll see
Won't we
Today On Earth
