Between Summer & a calendar claiming Fall
Even worse, been weeks with no rain squall
But, we know all will change
Earth will soon rearrange
It will cool down & it will rain
In Ireland & UK, soon Lorenzo pain
Trashed the Azores as strong cat. 1
And, it's looking far from done
Northern most, biggest, baddest storm ever
Ireland from electricity, soon a sever
Off Puerto Rico dozens more aftershocks
Subduction zone still shifting rocks
Indonesia & China & off Mexico
Pretty good shakes, letting folks know
Big old planet, quite in command
Doesn't care what we believe or demand
OK & Cali still got the shakes
Who thought humans could cause quakes
Or change the climate, trash the seas
Kill off the bats, wipe out honey bees
Cause extinctions most every where
And, in our greed, not even care
Lie to ourselves and each other
And, from our mess, quickly recover
Guess we'll see how it all works out
Because there surely is no doubt
7.6 billion humans are the problem here
Many will deny it, but it is so clear
Population correction is on the way

Went out looking for moon last night
A crescent, 'tween trees, what a sight

On the border of light and dark
Jupiter was the only other spark
Gonna check again tonight
Hot, hazy air might blur the sight
But worth a walk to take a peak
If a little calmness you seek
Moon, stars & planets always there
Even in light polluted city air
Star gaze, be reminded of our place
Our tiny world, the vastness of space
The view, the calmness, in reserve
Might make your Thursday swerve
To a place of more laughter & smiles
With far fewer lies & fewer denials
