Greetings From Bee Cave

While phones switch as you travel the Earth, time zone to time zone, computer don't necessarily make the change so while I thought it was after midnight when I last posted, technically I was in central time and it was still Monday.
Now it's Tuesday in all of the US and the Texas version is hot and dry with some cumulus forming off in the distance. The short but plentiful trees of the rolling hill country make for a striking landscape with grand vistas and dramatic changes in topography; a Texas I'd never seen (and anywhere you go in Texas, you realize there is a lot of it - the first mile marker as you enter the state is 877 - that's miles to El Paso).
The local rock (and I know there are rock enthusiasts out there) is a pretty, fine grained, buff limestone that on close examination appears micro-fossiliferous with even an hint of the oolitic. Nancy's house has lots of it on steps and walks and trim and the fireplace and it's scattered all over the property - no grass covering everything here.
In addition to rock, there are deer right outside the front door. And, Charlie, the very friendly and loving dog.
If you're looking for the moon in the evening with the planets you are waaaaay early. Today is the third or last quarter moon (at 10:42 CDT) and it was out earlier this morning but is either in the clouds or close to setting. It will be a thick crescent tomorrow morning.
Hey! Get out and enjoy Today On Earth!
