After a reminder Fall is not that far off, August is back with the heat and muggies, gross. Only going to get hotter this week; perhaps a respite by the weekend, rain chances remain low with hit and miss showers. Friends in the Valley are parched, 10" below average rain while the other side of Va. is soaked. Welcome to the new, warmer, wilder Earth. Big UN report released yesterday, CODE RED!! No, I'm shocked...sadly, it was code red 30 years ago...we are waaaaaaay too late now, Hell is coming!!
Looking to die, slowly, from the TrumpVirus, visit Floriday, today!! Dumbass caveman (definitely some Cro-Magnon DNA there)governor will allow no masking so hundreds a day are dying, thousands infected and with Delta variant likely deaths will be in the 1000's soon. Be some cheap property in the Villages soon with all those dead TrumpDickSuckers denying reality, seeeeeya morons!! Show Me State soon changing the name to Misery; NOLA Jazz fest just cancelled, unvaxed dumbasses everywhere so the pandemic rages on - got my rights, to be stupid and die!! Just stay away from me!!
Deluges continue around the globe, Omaha just got 12" of rain in 24 hours; fires still rage out west and in the eastern Mediterranean (likely elsewhere, too, I didn't look hard). Low in the islands likely to become Fred later today with sights set for Florida straights; it is hurricane season and we are weeks from the peaks!
At least it's a slow quake day, biggest shake at 5.3, so no issues there.
The waxing crescent moon will be beside Venus in the SW after sunset tonight, both parked below Denebola, the butt of Leo. A Recurrent Nova is recurring, brightening to naked eye visible in Ophiuchus (above Scorpio) in the south after dark, binocs and a star chart will help. Sun remains fairly calm, for a star!
Got my first electric bill after installing new heating/cooling system: less than $50 bucks, last July was $113 so suck it REC, the slimiest, most corporate coop around.
Time to brave the mugginess and track down a big brown dog, Today On Earth!!
Why this turtle was cruising up my walk, I have no idea but this reptile is sure faaaar better than a copperhead.
