Likely, passively consuming instead
Of being a grid producer, too
How could that happen to you??
It's actually pretty easy to produce
Because sunlight on silicon will induce
Electrons to start to flow
That's electricity, ya know!
A few solar panels on your roof
A meter inside to show the proof
Of what happens when you flip a switch
Your "bill" goes down, just a titch
What if we all were producers
I bet we'd also become reducers
We'd all use less power to live
And, that just might give
Us all a much better chance
To live, love, sing & dance
On a cooler, greener planet.
It's a fairly warm world today
Report: change is on the way
A cool front's still creeping east
Likely to park, start a cloud feast
Over the Eastern seaboard
Leaking rain, sowing humid discord
By then we're into August
Really not much to adjust
Likely more heat and storms
Building toward hurricane swarms
In early September
We all remember
Hurricanes!!🌪
Wind, rain and flood
Power loss and mud
Had your own solar cell array
Still be power coming your way
Auto-disconnect from the GRID
A few storage batteries you hid
To store your own power
With solar hot water, take a shower
Get a cold beer out of the fridge
Relax and maybe smile a smidge
Knowing all is ok
Even on a stormy day
Everyday On Earth!
Or we can let Dominion rule
Which leaves us all the fool
Having to deal with whatever they say
And, pay and pay and pay and pay
Always need another power & gas line
Produce our own, then they can whine
And, they will, so greedy
Stockholders for profit, so needy
Add a few more panels
Got all you need, don't need channels
To the GRID
Be nice to be rid
Living wild and free
Sustainably
On Earth!

So much delight to see
