For 53 years we've been taking a day
To maybe find a somewhat better way
To not destroy our one & only home
But, w/ double the people, hordes a'roam
Way more cars spewing more CO2
In USA, into flesh, daily bullets chew
Religious nut jobs always looking back
Mo' dicktotors planning another attack
Ice is melting, glaciers into the sea
Piles of plastic on every beach you see
Rivers are running low & slow
Even barges are a no-go
All our drinking water's laced w/ drugs
All our money sucked by corporate thugs
Still we parade & celebrate
But, 53 years in, we ain't doin' so great
One side wants to build walls & bombs
The other to pay off parental bums
There are new ideas that are great
But, really, too small & too late
Cuz this planet is gettin' hot & wild
Not gonna be pretty for today's child
Here, a wild ride coming today
With a Cold Front on the way
Sun has hurled more energy, too
Will fire auroras, give radios a screw
SW Puerto Rico still w/ the shakes
Hopefully, not new volcano it makes
