Indeed, it is cool, 44 this morning but we have warmed to 60; that's ahead of the rain that is coming. Not looking like any 80's ahead for the weekend or coming week, but it is May and most anything can happen.
The Big Brown Dog has slept in with me this morning, not off on his morning adventure, content to nap until I venture out; with an occasional halfhearted squirrel chase. Dogwood blooms are mostly gone, green reins supreme in the forest. More rain will keep it that way.
Quakes along the Aussie/Pacific boundary with Tonga & Fiji the only ones that reached mag. 5. Mid-Atlantic ridge and Scotia plate only other mag 5 quakes. Truckee in NE California with a 4.7 earlier likely rattled a few things up in the Sierras. Kansas with 2; frack on, fools.
New sunspot that has been active so far is just spinning into Earth view, but not really pointed at us..yet. The waning lunar crescent is getting harder and harder to spot in the predawn..I'm not looking:)
818 more dead Americans; TrumpVirus. Those are the facts (no report from Ohio, so it's likely a little low) which it seems you can't say as a republican. Liz Chaney supported donny the douche but won't agree to the BIG LIE, donny lost and he is a loser. Rest of the rabid deniers want her out; lie or you have to go, there is no room for the truth if donny is in the room. At least facebook told him, no way! Lot of fat, white, racist (that's understood), but I hesitate to call them Americans out there sucking at the fox teat. More like russian supporters cuz their boy donny would support putin over the USA any day; very sad, very scary. Following the same trend that brought hitler and his nazis to power 85 years ago..scary stuff.
TrumpVirus cases are down but still almost 50K a day and vaccination rates are slowing but vaccinators are going to where the unwilling are and that's helping. Hard core anti-vaxers, let 'em stay home (but they won't and will whine...personal freedom crap...well, the rest of us have the right to life, too and not be infected by you).
This will be the sixth Mother's Day without my mom around, still miss her but still so glad she had 93 pretty good years to ride on the big planet. Enjoy the time with your Mom, Today On Earth.
