66 at midnight, 63 at 7am and now at 11:30 it's down to 57..with clouds and a breeze; the Cold Front is thru. No sign of rain here but the sky sure looks that way..but, it's not going to happen, maybe even for the week. Perhaps warmer by next weekend. SE Va. tidewater area only sign of rain, another chance of wild storms across the deep south..ahhh, spring.
A 5.3 quake north of New Zealand today is biggest shake around the planet, Tonga and Kuril islands with a little shifting going on. In the US, Texass, OK and Nevada are today's winner (or losers.. if you live near where those quake occurred..middle of NO where).
30 years ago today, our Grand Canyon raft adventure had us drifting into Lake Mead, all but done with our journey through the big ditch. In a little over a week, I'd be back in Va, to start a new life chapter, from which I am now pleasantly retired. Whoa...30 years!!
Sun is getting spotty, stirring up and a cool shot and note on spaceweather.com; Mercury has a comet-like tail. It's so close to the sun that our star blasts atoms out of Mercury's very, very, very thin atmosphere and into space producing a tail. Mercury is well situated in the west at sunset now for talented and well equipped folks to get a photo of the (sodium) tail; very cool!!
TrumpVirus deaths for yesterday are very low, a good sign or just lame reporting by states that I know are open and killing folks. The trend is downward as vaccinations continue, more and more sites just open, stop on in and get stuck! TrumpDickSucking morons continue to say no to vax, tough to admit when you were conned...bible thumpers/anti vaxers...not even going there...waaaay too crazy!!
I've seen female Rose Breasted Grosbeak today, Red Bellied woodpecker on the suet now, but no daddy Grosbeak since first spotted. Like that my black snake is back and copperhead body is now gone; a treat for something. Chickadees and goldfinches still dominate feeders..squirrels, always a menace. Time to bundle up and track down a big dog, stay safe, be smart, mask on, shot in, stay apart, Today On Earth.
