Skies stayed clear for the conjunction, still better in binocs or with eyeballs than most photos I was able to take..here's one..
A reminder, the two will still be close tonight but Saturn will continue to drop lower (both will as Earth pulls away from them)into the sunset. They will be joined by Mercury early in 2021 but all three will be very low, binocs likely needed to find them. Keep watching..'til you get the 3d nature or our solar system.
The wind is whipping out of the south today, lots of sun has temps on the rise, likely into 50's again even with some cumulus clouds around. Same on tap before tomorrow before another system and large (forecast) rain event on xmas eve. That front will sweep in rather cold air making for a chilly, dine inside, xmas.
Half a dozen quakes in the mag. 5 range today, most low, most seafloor/fish quakes. Fewer quakes show up on Hawai'i and USGS is worthless for eruptions happening NOW.
Little solar wind will zap Earth today perhaps stirring auroras in the northlands (it's light 24/7 in Antarctica so no night lights there).
