In our annual solar orbit
Today's as tilted as we get
From our local star
Even while not as far
Away
Today
Is our Winter Solstice
When just a little light will suffice
Down under, southern hemisphere way
Their summer starts up today
And, E. Australia is ablaze
Raging fires creating sun blocking haze
The Earth is in a major warming cycle
Humans: too many cars, too few bicycles
Today the sun's overhead at south 23.45
Tropic of Capricorn, but that's a bit of jive
Because today's sun is in Sagittarius
But name changes are such a fuss
Earth's wobbles & shifts are slow
But, eventually they do show
So, what you think might be your "sign"
Could be wrong, could be fine
Doesn't effect you anyway
Other than sun tilted away
Southern shifting sun, stops today
Stands still, before starting northern play
Today
A break
Off to return the remains of a friend
To the Earth, at the river's bend
Jay Gillespie gone way too soon
Miss ya buddy...
