Guns; Anger & Denial

I'm still bothered by the wacko last night

Couldn't pronounce his new home right

Thinks someone's got him in their sight

Him with assault weapon, that's a fright

Then Board bragging about packin' heat

At the meeting, right there, in their seat

Pretty sad & pathetic, that's where we're at

Only safe if we're all in a NRA hat?

Will Earth be safer if everyone is armed?

That sentiment leaves me alarmed

100 people will die by a gun today

In the USA

200 or more will be injured some way

2/3 of those deaths are suicide

Got a gun, easy to take the final ride

That's more than in car wrecks

More than from bad heroin treks

If that many coming back from war

There would be major uproar

With thought, "only safe with my gun"

Must suck to be that scared, son..

Not an easy issue to solve

But, only can if we resolve

To talk calmly & listen

Bend a little on every position

Can't own nuke, missile or mortar

Without major civil disorder

Need 40 shot mag for hunt deer?

Your aim needs work, that's clear

Only thing a gun can do is kill

When will we swallow that reality pill?

Of course, we know, Earth don't care

Whether we kill each other or share

It's still warming from our pollution

Damage not too late for solution

But, we are close to tipping point

And, our removal from this joint

Today, we'll all likely survive

Pleasant day for life to thrive
