Even Colder With Snow ? On The Way

15 this morning...that's the coldest we've hit in a couple of years...now, seems there is snow coming, actual snow, also, something we haven't seen in a couple of years. A potential major storm that will likely throw a major wrench into my ski clinic/dog boarding plans..time and snow will tell.

For now the sun is shining brightly, the birds are chowing mightily and it's still cold -well, 35, still chilly but warming a bit. Clouds ahead of the approaching storm will modify both the rising high temp and tonight's low. Snow is forecast to begin before dawn Sunday and continue off and on for days..depending on how the Low turns into a nor'easter and wraps its wrath around onto us. We'll know by Tuesday what happened!

Quakes today, and a few hit low 5's, are pretty much just around the Pacific Ring O Fire & Shakes. Indonesia, as usual, leads in the count; Scotia, Kamchatka, Meso and South America in on the 5+ action. Little shakes continue around Puerto Rico and magma movement is still causing Hawai'i to shimmy.

Could be a little solar wind uptick to start February kicking up aurora action, still only at high latitudes. Winter star gazing will be clouded out for what seems likely to be several days here.

New strains, our experiment in viral evolution proceeding quite well, keep popping worldwide (mostly in countries with poor leadership that have ignored the reality, like the US)and continued travel and simple hygiene ignorance is likely to keep the spreading trials running for months. We did stir up 3 deer yesterday, kinda nice (if they stay out of the garden in the summer) to see and know the local militia/hunter types didn't kill them all last season... Not for lack of trying..a neighbor explaining..we don't work during hunting season..then went on to brag about all the sizes and sexes of deer killed. Same as it ever was..Today On Earth.
