The summer of 2011 is shaping up to be fairly close to average after a couple of cookin' hot years. We're not done but temps in the upper 80's and lows in the upper 60's (lower 60's out here in the forest lands) is average for this time of year.
The weekend will see temperatures a couple of degrees above that average with a better chance of showers Sunday than Saturday. The seasonal temps continue into next week.
If you're headed to the beaches of Va. & NC be prepared for SMOKE. The Great Dismal Swamp fire of '11 continues and with southerly winds the Tidewater area is in the RED air quality warning zone. It will be pretty nasty down there.
