The Ides of October, for what that's worth, is today, Woooo! Clouds have quickly hidden the sun and the cool start lingers, the promise to warm slow in coming. Rain totals for the Cold front's passage tomorrow have dropped from multiple inches to a couple of tenths; there will be weather. Big rain or not, there is a big chill with this air mass, pretty typical for this time of year; frost, we'll see.
Today is volcano report day: 17 on the list this week. Guatemala is back on the list with Fuego, Pacaya & Santa Maria. I'm sure they were rocking and blasting last week, as well, but were not on the list. Popo is back on the list, though again, likely blasting ash last week even when not listed. Chile & Nicaragua round out the eastern side of the ring. Kamchatka (3) and Japan(2), Indonesia(4) over to PNG(2) make up the active counties on the western ring - no real surprises there.
Another slow day of quakes; 3 shakes in the low 5's but no issues, the usual suspects.
TrumpVirus chart is almost back, still a day behind -217K dead and likely we'll go over 8 million cases later today, if not already there. Amy Loony Barrister continues to evade all questions and with heavy makeup, keep the all seeing eye of Gilead on her forehead covered - scary where this country is headed.
But, early voters are lining up, screw the mail in ballot, we're voting early - I'd guess for republicans that's early and often - election theft their only real plan.
A sunspot is building on our star. The moon, if visible, was unseen by me this morning - it's New tomorrow and at the closest perigee of the entire year so should be some coastal flooding worldwide - the new normal. They keep saying climate change, so as not to offend (I personally find stupidity offensive) - there is always some degree of climate change - our reality is GLOBAL WARMING - our waste is causing the atmosphere to trap more heat, warming the planet. Climate change is not our concern, our problem IS (cause it's happening right now) GLOBAL WARMING. Say that if you want to get it right!!
Enjoy the last warm, dry day before the big chill, Today On Earth.
