The big festival cutting loose pre-Lent

When some eating habits will get bent

What to eat and how to dress

Seem pretty petty, I must confess

Designed more for guilt & control

By men, playing at the god role

Ultimately we each much decide

How we feel about any "other side"

For me, it's personal, I don't share

So, what you believe, I don't care

World would be a much better place

If all beliefs stayed behind our face

And, in individual brains

Easy step to lessen world-wide pains

But, today, just want to say

Here, overnight, little bit of rain

Still quite warm, so can't complain

A wild tangle of competing air masses

With cold returning when this passes

Chilly temps for Feb. end & March start
